A Punk Seanchaí

Once described as being like “a lovely loaf of fresh baked bread served at a satanic orgy” Fáin is an oral storyteller with a multidisciplinary background who loves to discuss the bizarre, the subversive and the deviant while creating an atmosphere of comfort, safety and comradery. Fáin has been a youth theatre facilitator, a writing consultant, a student of Irish Folklore at UCD, has laboured in the story mines of The National Leprechaun Museum, and has produced various multi-media projects including podcasts, audio-dramas, Alternative Reality Games and video essays. Often involving weird little puppets.
Their influences include Growler, Blindboy Boatclub, Diogenes the Cynic, Tom Waits, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, the writings of James Connolly and the local crows.

Aside from five years at the National Leprechaun Museum Fáin has also told stories for groups such as Gender.RIP, Chronic Collective, Daoine Draoícht and Dublin’s Finest.
Fáin’s extensive repertoire of myths and folk tales has suitable stories for all audiences, from the very young to the tired old cynic.
And their theatrical, engaging style leaves audiences enthralled.
